The Spike Fitness Turkey Shakeoff was held on Friday, November 30, 2012. The purpose of the fundraiser was to support The Sam Bish foundation created in memory of Samuel Gordon Bish, son of Michael and Cindy Bish after his brave fight against Osteosarcoma pediatric cancer. Sam Bish Foundation works closely with contacts at Nationwide Children's Hospital to plan events for the families of children that have been diagnosed with cancer.
Participants brought toys to be donated to the children at Nationwide Children's Hospital for Christmas and had a great evening shaking off the pounds with Hip Hop and Zumba sessions. The response was so overwhelming that the event had to be moved to the Coughlin Chevrolet Pataskala auto repair facility.
A great time was had by all for a wonderful cause and Spike Fitness is proud have such caring, thoughtful members!
"I wanted to say once again thank you to Michelle Riley for putting together and organizing the benefit Friday Night for the Sam Bish Foundation. I want to thank Cindy Bish and Courtney for sharing this wonderful foundation to help so many children and their families. I wanted to also thank all of our amazing instructors (Michelle, Cheryl, Lisel and Tracy). I wanted to also thank our kids club staff (Alexa, Annie and Taylor) for giving up their friday night! Also, thank you to John Riley and Coughlin for allowing us to expand and use their garage. Finally to all our incredible members and guests for all the presents we collected for these families! It was just unbelievable!"
